Scrap buyer in Musheerabad, Hyderabad

Musheerabad is one of the older parts of the city, and the wholesale markets around Bholakpur have been trading for well over a century. That age shows in the streets: dense residential colonies laid out long before the newer suburbs existed, small-scale industrial units tucked in among them, and a market area that has been handling goods and metal for generations.

It is also where we are based. Our yard sits in Bakaram, Kavadiguda, which is inside this belt, about a kilometre and a half from the Musheerabad end. That makes Musheerabad the shortest run we make, and it means we know the lanes, the market timings and the buildings rather than arriving as strangers.

The mix here is older and more mixed than in the growth suburbs. The colonies around Kavadiguda, Nallakunta, Ramgopalpet and Gandhi Nagar are long established, so household loads come with decades of accumulation behind them. The Bholakpur market side runs on commercial turnover instead, and the small industrial units in between produce their own metal. It is a dense, varied area rather than a single kind of job.
